We just had our first snowfall of the season in New York City and it reminded me of the winter I lived on Cape Cod by myself as I started my business in 2002-03. All my neighbors in Harwich promised it rarely snowed on the Cape because the ocean warmed the storms and protected us from big snowfalls. Six snowstorms later, I no longer believed them! It was the worst winter in years, but the view on our pond was worth the heavy shoveling workouts.
